what we do
The financial support that is provided to the school by the SJSA is critical for maintaining the results and excellent reputation that St. Joseph’s has achieved over the years. The SJSA usually raises funds through a variety of events, and our main events are:
- Readathon (October-November), a 3-week festival of reading activities during which children’s friends and family sponsors reward them for their reading efforts by donating money to the school; this streak culminates in a prize raffle for highest-raisers
- Winter Gala (December), a themed evening for parents with dancing, entertainment and plentiful food and drink at the school hall
- Auction (March), the main event in our calendar, an evening of bidding on hundreds of promises donated by our own parents
- Summer Fair (July), an all-family garden party extravaganza at St Joseph’s school grounds.
All our events are organised by our own school parents, and every family is welcome to attend, enjoy and contribute! We are always on the lookout for volunteers to help organise, set up and run the events, delicious home food and special talents. No contribution is too small, and everything counts!
