We are very proud of our school and all children are expected to wear full uniform every day.  It shows that the children are part of the St. Joseph’s family.

Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception)

  1. Green school tracksuit with school logo on
  2. Yellow school polo shirt with school logo
  3. Black shoes with Velcro fastenings
  4. Green socks
  5. Small green / white / yellow hair accessories

Year 1 – Year 6

Girls:

  1. Plain, white shirt with long sleeves and collar which should be tucked into the pupil’s skirt or trousers in the Winter.
  2. Plain, charcoal grey skirt or trousers or grey pinafore dress in the Winter.
  3. Green and white patterned school dress in the Summer.*
  4. Grey school jumper or cardigan with school badge on*
  5. School tie*
  6. Plain, black or dark brown sensible shoes. Children are not allowed to wear open toed sandals for health and safety reasons.
  7. Boots can be worn, if the weather requires, to travel to and from school, however, children must then change into shoes once they have arrived at school.
  8. Plain green or grey tights or below the knee socks.  
  9. School hat or sun cap for warmth or sun protection at break times.  Straw boaters are optional to wear to and from school in the Summer.
  10. School coat, blazer or school fleece

Boys:

  1. Plain white shirt with long sleeves and collar which should be tucked into the pupil’s trousers in the Winter.
  2. Plain white shirt with short sleeves and collar which should be tucked into the pupil’s shorts in the Winter.
  3. Grey school jumper with school badge on*
  4. School tie*
  5. Plain, black sensible shoes. Children are not allowed to wear open toed sandals for health and safety reasons.
  6. Boots can be worn, if the weather requires, to travel to and from school, however, children must then change into shoes once they have arrived at school.
  7. Grey socks.  
  8. School hat or sun cap for warmth or sun protection at break times
  9. School coat, blazer or school fleece

To reflect the mature attitude that we expect from Year 6 children, they will be given a special school tie to wear.

P.E. Kit

  1. White t-shirt with school badge*
  2. Plain blue shorts
  3. Blue school track suit*
  4. Black or white trainers
  5. For swimming- one piece costume for girls and trunks for boys.  A swimming cap needs to be worn if a child’s hair is long enough to be in a pony tail
  6. Draw string PE bag

Children should wear their PE kit to school on the days that they are due to have a PE lesson.

Additional sports kit should be brought in for after-school clubs.  This should not include football strips.

Hair

Plain, black, white or green hair accessories to allow hair to be kept out of children’s faces.  All girls with shoulder length hair or longer should be tied back.  Boys’ hair should be no longer than collar length.  Children with extreme haircuts (e.g. tramlines, logos) will be sent home. Make up or hair products such as colouring should not be worn to school.  In these instances children will be asked to wash off the products.

Jewellery

Only plain gold or silver stud earrings can be worn  
Watches should be a sensible size and removed during PE lessons.  All other jewellery is not permitted for safety reasons.

Bags:

Children should use the school rucksacks or book bags to carry their belongings to and from school.

ALL ITEMS OF SCHOOL UNIFORM SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE OWNER’S NAME.

If, for any reason, a child cannot comply with the School’s Uniform Policy, then they should come to school with a note of explanation for the Head teacher.

If a child comes to school without the correct uniform and no letter of explanation, the Head teacher will talk to the child and a letter will be sent home asking for an explanation.

ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING, INCLUDING SHOES, PLIMSOLLS AND BAGS SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME.
