SCHOOL GAMES GOLD KITE MARK 2022

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award again for the 2021/22 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of PE and School Sport across the school and into the community.

The award is nationally recognised as the kite mark for school sport, and to attain the Gold level again is an incredible achievement. Our school have had to demonstrate excellence in Participation, Supporting Talented Athletes, Competition, Leadership, Inclusion and Community Links.

HEALTHY SCHOOL’S INITIATIVE

We work hard to teach our children how to lead healthy lifestyles and place great importance on caring for our pupils’ well-being.  Working with their parents we teach the children to make healthy choices.  The pupils and staff are working hard to achieve the requirements to achieve Silver Healthy Schools Status this year.

STARS AWARD

Last year we were delighted to be awarded the Bronze STARS accreditation for the work that the school completed towards encouraging sustainable travel and healthier lifestyles.  Particular thanks must go to last year’s School Council who led the project and to everyone who supported us in achieving the accreditation.  We are very proud of this and it has whetted our appetite to work even harder to achieve our Healthy Schools and Gold STARS accreditations!

SILVER SING UP AWARD

"Congratulations St Joseph’s on achieving your Silver Award. You have demonstrated singing activities and initiatives across the whole school - Well done! You have met the criteria required and supported by the staff, you are working hard to place singing at the heart of your school. The performances by each year group were lovely! The children demonstrated great singing tone, tuneful two part singing and diction. Well done!" - Kathleen Still
