Pink Class News

This week our R.E focus has been Holy Week. We have retold the story of Palm Sunday, looked at how we remember Maundy Thursday and walked through the Stations of the Cross.

In Maths the children have completed some tests and they all worked really hard to do as much as they could.

Our English focus has continued to be related to our topic work and we have been learning more about the sites of London.

Wishing you a joyful Easter.

In Maths we have been working on fractions - the year 1s have been focusing on finding 1/2 of a shape. Whereas the year 2s have been looking at finding 1/2 or 1/4 of an amount.

In R.E we thought about one of the practices - charity - that we practice during Lent and thought about the charities we support.

We hope you have a relaxing and peaceful weekend.

Wow! What a busy week.

We had a fantastic time during Book Week. We studied a new book by our author Allan Ahlberg - ‘The Pencil’. It’s a great book and the children really enjoyed it.

Today it was our dress up day and Pink Two looked fabulous all dressed up as Burglar Bill and Burglar Betty. We even had a visit from the police - and like true burglars our children weren’t afraid!!!!

We focussed on multiplication as repeated addition for maths and shall continue with this next week extending our work to look at arrays.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

The first week back has been an extremely busy one with it being Art Week. The children have really enjoyed the week and we have tried to include a form of art into all subjects taught this week.

On Monday we went to Tate Modern - it was a beautiful sunny day and the trip was a success.

Our art this week has included re-creating a picture, building a sculpture and painting a piece of art. Also we had a plate painting workshop on Tuesday which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
