Head's Newsletter

Dear Pupils, Parent, Staff, and Governors,

Today we celebrated our Welcome Mass with Fr. Kevin and it was wonderful to see so many of you. Our pupils in KS1 and KS2 were all so well behaved and reverent while our Nursery and Reception children enjoyed their “special visitor from Jesus”. Thank you to parents, staff and pupils for making the occasion so special and memorable.

This week we also held our Student Council elections and the new Student Council, together with the Head Boy and Head Girl, are very much looking forward to working with Mrs Deacy on exciting new projects.

Next week, we will be holding our House Captain and Vice-Captain Elections with our Y6 candidates campaigning, producing a manifesto and speech, followed by whole school voting. On Friday, the children from St. Vincent’s House will have a special afternoon celebration led by Mrs Robinson as a commemoration of St Vincent de Paul’s Feast Day on 27th September.

On Tuesday we will be hosting the Able Writer’s Workshop with 10 of our Y6 pupils also taking part. Many thanks to Miss Brooks for organising this event. On Wednesday, as part of our focus on children’s emotional well-being, we are very lucky to have a whole school “Emotion in the Ocean” work-shop.

On Friday 27h September will be holding our Macmillan coffee morning, in the hall at 8:15. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help so far. Please note, we need raffle prizes such as wine, vouchers or chocolates. Please contact Mr Bowles if you would like to volunteer or if you would like any information on how you could help. Please bake a cake, bring a croissant and come and join us for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat and raise some money for this very good cause.

Finally, please ensure that you attend the School Association AGM on Tuesday 24th September at 6pm in the school hall. All parents are members of the School Association and this meeting is the perfect opportunity to meet people and get involved. All are very welcome.

Thank you also for the messages of support for Miss Armstrong who has gone to Australia for a few weeks to care after her mother. I know she will be comforted by your prayers and good wishes.

May God bless you and keep you and your family safe.
