It's been a very exciting week in Violet 1 and 2! In Science, we learnt about buoyancy and conducted our own experiment to test for it. The children made boats of different shapes and sizes (out of tin foil) and measured the mass that each could carry across a body of water before sinking. In addition to this, we all enjoyed an interactive and exciting dry-ice assembly by 'Sublime Science' on Thursday.
There was a strong grammar and punctuation focus in this week's English lessons and Maths centred around the formal, written method for division and finding fractions of amounts.
The highlights of the week were our trips to the Apple Stores in Regent Street and Covent Garden, where the children coded 'Sphero' robots to navigate their way around a series of mazes and obstacles.
We are all really looking forward to Sayers Croft and remind parents that children will need to come in their PE kits and bring a packed lunch on Wednesday.
Have a great weekend!

WOW!WEE! Violet 3 had the best week ever!! Every single child should be super proud of their hard-work and determination this week during SATs. Such focus and rigour demonstrated by each child, I am extremely proud. In Computing this week, we explored two different areas. First, we began to look at the benefits and skill involved in learning how to touch type. Then later in the week, we used Scratch to code a simple race car game. In RE, we explored what a modern day witness of the Holy Spirit might look like.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Science workshop on Thursday afternoon, where we created our very own sherbet! Thank you Mrs Dowling for organising that for us. It really has been a busy week and finally on Friday, we celebrated all our hard work by playing games and having a picnic at Paddington Rec.
