It's been an exciting and learning-filled week in Violet 1 and 2! In RE the children learned and showed great understanding of 'The Road to Emmaus' and 'Saul's conversion' Bible stories. They produced some fabulous writing on these key Pentecostal events.
Diary entry writing was our English focus for the week. We identified the key features of an emotive, well -structured and interesting diary entry from a character's perspective. The children wrote from Edmund, Lucy's and Mr Tumnus points of view to explain their respective experiences in Narnia.
Violet 2 enjoyed their last trip to Forest Schools for the year and particularly enjoyed building shelters! We remind parents that both classes are going to the Apple Store on Tuesday 14th and will need to wear their school uniform for this.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mr McGee and Miss Burton
Revision, revision, revision! Violet 3 have not stopped this week and every single child should be very proud of their achievements. In Maths we revised: Algebra, Proportion, Co-ordinates and Measure! It really has been a busy week! In English, we focused on our reading comprehension skills and practiced using the text to support our inferences. In Science, we created two circuits to observe the difference between a parallel circuit and a series circuit. Can you explain the difference?
In topic this week we learnt about four different tribes living in the Amazon Forest. Can you name and describe any of the tribes? Next week, we are really looking forward to completing our SATs test. Make sure you rest and relax over the weekend!
