This week, the children have been exploring the world of Roald Dahl in English. The children compiled a fact files of Roald Dahl's life and his many achievements. They were surprised to learn that he was also a fighter pilot in World War II and did most of his writing in his garden shed. We have also started to read Fantastic Mr. Fox, and will be using this as a basis for our writing over the next few weeks.
In Maths the Blue classes have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. We also looked at real life situations where this skill is needed. The children practiced plotting numbers up to 1000 on various number lines. Next week we will be exploring inverse operations
In other lessons this week the children have: undertaken mapping work in relation to Ancient Egypt, written about special journeys we have taken and discussed journeys that Jesus made throughout his life.
Finally, congratulations to all of the children who took part in the KS2 Sportshall athletics competition at Moberly Sports Centre today. A great result indeed!
