Blue Class News

Blue 1 has had a wonderful day at Forest Schools at Paddington Rec. Each class will attend a number of sessions throughout the year, which will further enhance the learning taking place in class. In Science lessons we have been taking a close look at rocks and their properties. The children have done a great job of adapting technical vocabulary and are looking forward to our experiment on porous materials next week.

There is much to look forward to next week. The Blue classes will be studying poetry in English lessons, and there will be an emphasis on imagery whilst using similes and metaphors. Each child will be creating their own poem to present to the rest of the class. On Thursday, the annual Poet Idol competition takes place. Don't forget to keep practising your poems over the weekend, as we will be selecting finalists on Tuesday.

Father Jeff will lead the Harvest Festival service at 2pm next Friday. The children have been busy learning Harvest Festival songs and poems to celebrate this enjoyable occasion.

In other lessons this week we have: written our own versions of The Tunnel, explored patterns and rules related to times tables, learnt about Kandinski's contributions to the art world and compared different types of Stone Age housing.

Wishing you all a restful weekend.
