Head's Newsletter

Dear Pupils, Parent, Staff, and Governors,

This week has been a marvellous week in school, the highlight of which was our annual sports day.  It was so lovely to see all of the children working together, being active and healthy and having fun.  Thank you to the many parents who came to support.  A special thank you to Mr Mars and Mrs Harrington who transported the school lunches, and Mr Caires for helping take the equipment up to the rec and of course an especially big thank you to Coach Grant and Miss Armstrong who organised and coordinated the entire day.  They all did brilliantly.

Jarvis is very much looking forward to an adventurous week ahead as he was awarded to Elena Cervesi whose delightful, studious nature has made her a deserving recipient. Therefore, he will be accompanying Y6 to PGL and will face untold challenges. On Tuesday 3rd July at 9am will be having the last school association meeting before the summer fair.  If you would like to help in any way, but don’t know how to get involved or who to speak to, please come along: all are welcome.

On Friday 6th July, children can again wear their own clothes and this time bring in a homemade cake for the summer fair. If you cannot make a cake, please bring in a donation for the fair.

Next academic year, in a change from previous years, we will be having a head girl and a head boy and no prefects.  All of the children in year 6 are expected to be good role models and to help and support the other children and staff in school.  The jobs that the prefects have done in previous years will be shared around the children. This way the children will learn about collective responsibility and team work.  In the coming weeks I will be talking to year 5 about the role of head boy and girl and the children in year 5, along with the staff will all have a say about who they think would be suitable for this role. The head boy and girl for 2018-19 will be announced at the leavers’ assembly on 18th July.

If you are purchasing new trainers for your child over the summer holiday for them to wear to school, please remember that only black, navy or white plain trainers are allowed in school.  Thank you.

May God bless you and keep you and your family safe.
