Nursery News

We have had another fantastic week in Nursery.

We extended our medical focus as the children were still displaying a high interest. Thank you to Georgina's mum for all the 'real' stethoscopes she gifted Nursery. This added to the children's role play.

Our final week of 'People Who Help Us' we are looking at restaurants  and cafes. Our home corner has transformed into a buzzy cafe with a wonderful ambience just like any popular cafe we like to visit. One of our parents is coming in early next week to bake pizza's with the children

We started the Daily Mile this week and some part of each day the children will run round an area of the  school. This is a wonderful time to run together, socialize , and have fun. All the children participated and was a joy to see them laughing and displaying a real sense of fun. It never ceases to amaze us what young children are capable of and with positive affirmations and support they blossom into active happy  children with inquiring minds and independent learners making their own learning choices with confidence and perseverance.

Phonic Play - We continue to look at initial sounds. To date we have looked at s a p t. We  have been introducing games that help us identify rhyming words. For instance our rhyming soup song - in goes a clock, rock, sock, block. We are reading many books that highlight the rhyming of words.

We continue to look at bible stories. Please look at our wonderful wall displays showing our learning, and what activities we have done relates to the stories.

A few reminders:

  • Please send the children with shoes and socks rather than tights under their school trousers so they can independently remove their footwear for our music and movement sessions and PE.
  • Please check your child's school uniform as some 'named' clothing is missing.
  • We are still collecting money for our art workshop and this can be paid online.

Thank You.

Having a wonderful weekend
