Starting the week with Forest School was absolutely fantastic! Thank you Miss Dowling for organising this, we wish we could start every week the same way. Year 6 have worked extremely hard this week as we have been completing practice SATs papers: our results, determination and maturity has blown Miss Brooks, Mrs Procaccini and Ms Brennan away. In English, we have been working on our persuasive writing skills and generating persuasive letters. PJ day has been an absolute blast, we thoroughly enjoyed participating in lots of drop and read in our PJs throughout the day. Next week is half term and every child in Year 6 deserves a fun and relaxing break.
What a fabulous end to the half term it has been! In Maths everybody worked incredibly hard, learning and consolidating the formal written methods of multiplication. In English, we have explored the feelings of different characters and looked at using prepositions to improve our sentences. We finished off the week creating our own comic strips which look fantastic! There are possibly some future artists in Year 5! In our topic work this week we learnt about the Ancient Greek Olympics and how they differ from the modern day Olympics. We discovered similarities and differences, can the children name any? Finally, we have all enjoyed guided reading this week as we have started our new book ‘Wonder’. We hope you have an enjoyable half term!
