A brilliant, busy week in Year 6! We had a fantastic time at the Victoria & Albert Museum, we were transported back in time to explore and look at many objects and clothing from the Victorian times. In Maths this week, we worked diligently to solve BIDMAS problems. Can you explain what BIDMAS stands for? In RE we started our new topic: Vocation and Commitment, we wrote reverential prayers and a diary entry from the perspective of John the Baptist. Next week, we are looking forward to our first Forest School Trip.
It’s been another wonderful week in year 5! Our Maths focus has been multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. The children have then been able to apply their knowledge to solve problems. In English, we have learnt how to use semi colons, colons, dashes and hyphens correctly. We will be putting these into practice in next week’s writing activities! We have continued our learning on Earth and space in Science. Can the children explain why we have day and night? Finally, in RE we looked at the importance of the sacrament of marriage.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed the forest school trip today. They loved exploring the woodland, learning how to ‘lash’ sticks together and even tried some whittling. We are very much looking forward to the rest of our sessions over the coming months.
