Welcome back to our nursery families. We hope you had a happy and restful break. This half term we have started our focus with a favourite traditional story 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. The children have all been actively acting out the story in the giant's castle with a loud FE FI FO FUM resonating off the walls. The children can confidently retell the story in their own words and have developed new language. They have learnt that they can use different descriptive words to express a meaning. e.g. Bellow can also mean roar/scream loudly.
The children enjoyed planting beans and are singing to them daily. They are eagerly waiting for them to grow. Our new display at the exploration table is inviting the children to explore with different smells and identify them. The nursery is smelling beautifully when you walk in. Outside we built volcanoes in the sandpit and discovered when you mix vinegar and baking soda you make a 'reaction'.
Next week our story is Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. It is also book week at school with Friday being character day and our nursery children attending the assembly.
Have a great weekend all.
