Thank you to the Pink 2 Class(Mrs. Robinson) for such a wonderful Class Assembly on Thursday. It is astounding to think the children could remember so many facts about the Continents and the Oceans of the world. St. Joseph’s is truly an international “Family”.
In RE this week we reflected upon the meaning of All Souls’ Day and how in the month of November we remember the deceased. In English the children listened to the story of Winnie’s Amazing Pumpkin by Valerie Thomas. The children enjoyed making broomsticks, moving cats, pumpkin soup and magic potions. These activities inspired the children to write their own precise instructions during the “Big Write” on Friday.
Next week in English we will be looking at the features of Traditional Tales in particular the story of Little Red Riding Hood. In Mathematics next week the children will be finding fractions of 2D Shapes including: halves, quarters, three quarters (Year 2) and fraction equivalents (Year 2).
Wishing you a restful weekend.
