Head's Newsletter

Dear children, parents, staff and governors,

Winter is well and truly with us now! I know that the children and many of the staff would love to see some real snow and that may be the case over the next few weeks.  I would just like to remind parents that when snow does arrive,  I will let you know as soon as possible whether the school is open or closing early etc. by parentmail and through the website.  So please would you make sure that your contact details are up to date, in particular your mobile phone numbers.

The Fit For Sport Breakfast and After School clubs have begun this week.  Our play leader for both clubs is Patrick  and if you would like your children to join either of these clubs please go to the Fit For Sport website and contact them or visit  Patrick in the Sharpe Suite in the morning or afternoons.  I know from previous experience of working for Fit For Sport that our children will enjoy the activities offered and that it is a safe and happy environment for your children to be in.  Do remember that if the clubs are not used the company would not be able to keep them running indefinitely.  So give the breakfast club a go, don’t wait for the lighter mornings but get into the habit of getting your children into school for breakfast and wake up activities now.

Looking to the rest of this term, we will be holding a science week beginning Monday 20th March.  The topic covered by the whole school will be ‘Change’.  If there are any parents, grandparents or other relatives who work in the scientific field and can share their knowledge and expertise with us during this week, Miss Dowling would love to hear from you. Miss Dowling is our Science subject leader and she will be organising this event.

I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.
Yours sincerely,

Mrs. V. Richardson
Head teacher
