A message from Mrs. Fleming

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the ‘Assessment without Levels’ workshop last week. I hope that many of your questions were answered and that you have a clearer idea of the DfE’s initiative to broaden the children’s knowledge. We are hoping to be able to put the presentation slides on the website so that you can refer to them as necessary.

Our new revised ‘Calculation Policy’ has been uploaded onto the website and we hope that you find it useful. It includes details of the strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for each year group. Mrs. Morrin has worked hard on this document and will be leading a parents’ workshop about the new strategies in the Autumn term.

Though there are only a few weeks left of term there are many events that are planned before the school holidays. Please check the newsletter each week carefully for updates. I wish you a good week.

Class Attendance

Congratulations to 2M and Year 6 on their excellent attendance this week and to Classes RG, 2V and Year 6 for their outstanding punctuality (though we must acknowledge Year 6’s unfair advantage as they were in the Isle of Wight all week!)
