Head's Newsletter

Dear children, parents, staff and governors,

What a wonderful first half term we have had.  So much has been achieved.  The children have worked very hard and as you can see from the displays in their classrooms and around the school they have had some very enjoyable learning.  Our parents too,  haveorganised some excellent events for us all to come together and meet.  Today was the turn of the Reception parents who hosted a coffee morning for the Nursery parents.  This was a wonderful occasion for parents new to the school, to put names to faces and make contact with others.  Thank you to all those who organised this.

On Monday 17th October, the whole school had a wonderful ‘Spirituality Day’  when we reflected on the Year Of Mercy and all that our school community had done to show love and mercy to others.  The day began with an assembly led by our Peace and Justice group, these children reminded us of all that we had learnt over the past year and we had time to pray and reflect.  Then, in their classes, children made their own or group doors of Mercy to thank God for his goodness and mercy to us and Others.  At the end of the day, Father Jeff, led the whole school in a service of readings and reflection.  The children also wrote letters to the Holy Father and Father Jeff is organising for these to be taken to Rome and presented to His Holiness.  This was a wonderful day that reminded us all of how lucky we are to be children of God and have his unconditional love and mercy.

Please do look at the calendar of events that is updated every week and placed on the school website.

I wish you all a very enjoyable half term break and look forward to seeing you all on Monday 31stOctober.  By thenall children should be in full winter uniform, which includes a coat.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. V. Richardson
