Head's Newsletter

Dear children, parents, staff and governors,

We have had another busy and hardworking week here at school. The Celebration assembly on Thursday morning was a testament to the children’s good attitude to learning and the good progress that they are all making. Our Year 6 children, in particular, have been working very hard in preparation for the Statutory Assessment Tests that they will be doing all of next week. Please keep them in your prayers over the next week.

Mrs Husain and I have plans to make a prayer garden in a quiet area in the centre of the school. As this is the anniversary year of the apparitions of Our Lady to the children in Fatima, we would like to have a statue of Our Lady of Fatima as the focal point and we will also re-instate the plaques in memory of past pupils in this area. To make it more attractive to the children we will be laying fake grass and real plants. In order to raise the £2000 necessary for this the children are holding cake sales every Friday afternoon throughout May. Please come and buy a cake or piece of fruit from the children in the Keystage 2 playground.

Some of our year 3 children are making their First Holy Communion this week and other will follow over the coming weeks so again our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families at this joyous time.

Kind regards,
Mrs. V. Richardson Head Teacher
