Nursery News

We have had another very busy week in Nursery. We have loved exploring and making with a new medium, using clay to make faces which are hanging in our science and exploration area. They look magnificent.

This week we have been talking about our similarities and differences and our feelings. We have used painted soft dolls/puppets showing different feelings; painted stones; books and role play to discuss how we and others feel. This is part of helping the children acknowledge they are unique. To help them gain confidence to separate from parent/care giver and feel comfortable with thenursery environment, staff, children and routines. To help the children gain confidence in their own abilities and to acknowledge these achievements by documenting them in their special portfolios and by displaying their work for everyone to share and admire. To experience a sense of pride.

We are talking about Mary and this week took our stones to the prayer garden. We are learning about how through prayer we can talk to God. We said some simple prayers with the children. We will visit often with the children. We continue to talk about Autumn and the changes we are seeing and made bright marble print leaves to put on our tree.

This week all the children got to make and enjoy fruit kebabs. Helping their fine motor skills as they threaded their pieces of fruit onto their stick and 'yum' the pleasure of eating at the end of school.

We are excited that our Harvest Supper is this Friday and look forward to seeing you there. Please see us if you have not purchased your tickets yet.
A few gentle reminders. Please check that your child has the right clothing as some items are going home with the wrong child. Please make sure they are clearly labeled.

If your child is unwell please keep them at home to minimize the spread of bugs. Thank you.

Have a fun and happy weekend and we will see you on Monday.
