Head's Newsletter

At St. Joseph’s the staff all work hard to provide the children with exciting lessons that grab their interest and enable them to apply their learning across subjects. We are very fortunate that our teachers all understand and recognise the ‘magnificent’ qualities of successful, life-long learners (Claxton 2008) and they incorporate opportunities for their pupils to be:

  • Curious
  • Courageous
  • Experimental
  • Imaginative
  • Explorative and investigative
  • Sociable
  • Disciplined
  • Communicative
  • Open minded
  • Reflective

It is always a great pleasure to speak to the children about their learning and to share their achievements with them. Our Year 2 parents had the opportunity to do this today and other classes have their Open Afternoons planned for the near future. We will also be sending out your child’s reports this term which will provide you with a detailed account of their learning and progress. I wish you a restful weekend and look forward to seeing you next week.
