Dear children, parents, staff and governors,
As we come to the end of this autumn term, I would like to thank you all for your hard work and commitment to our school. I am learning that St. Joseph’s is a very special school community in which we all work together to live out our Mission statement ofliving life to the full. We certainly have lived the life to the full this term! So many wonderful events for bothchildren, staff and parents. I am pleased to say that this has been recognised in our recent Section 48 inspection in which the inspectors graded the Catholic life of the school as ‘Outstanding’ in which they say that ‘the school mission statement permeates the school and its community’. The inspectors were very impressed by the large number of questionnaires that were returned to them and noted in the report that ‘parents are overwhelmingly supportive and celebrate all that the school provides for their children’. We should all be very proud of this report because everyone of us has contributed to the success of our school. However, I would like to give a special mention here to our R.E. subject leader, Miss Donnelan and our Deputy Head teacher, Mrs. Husain, who over the last two years have worked very hard to ensure that our school is giving our children the bestreligious education possible. Most importantly, I would like to thank our wonderful children, who day in and day out, respect and care for each other and adults and always do their best in all their work. The inspectors graded the religious education of the school as good and gave us invaluable advice on how we can progress further in this area. You can read the full report on parent mail and on our website. If you would like a hard copy of the report, Mrs. Dunphy has copies in the office.
I am sure that you have all enjoyed the Christmas nativity plays and carol concert that the children performed over the past week. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle of preparation for Christmas these performances focussed us on the important feast day that we are about to celebrate.
Finally, I would like to wish you all a very joyful and happy Christmas. I looked forward to seeing you all in the New Year. The children return to school on Wednesday 4th January.
Mrs. V. Richardson
